ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST
This position will work within a multi-disciplinary
team to conduct research and development
of chemical/biological sensors, analytical
components and reagents for clinical
chemistry analyzers. Responsibilities
include: maintain and operate laboratory
equipment for data gathering, perform
blood manipulation and analysis, record
and summarize data, assist in the
preparation of specifications, processes
or test protocols, prepare scientific
reports. The successful candidate
must possess the ability to organize,
prioritize and schedule work assignments,
and identify and recommend solutions
to routine problems. Must possess
the knowledge of basic research and
development techniques. Requires a
BS in Chemistry, Biology or related
field and 0 to 2 years’ experience.
FOOD SERVER, PART-TIME
This position serves food from the
Nova Biomedical cafeteria hot food
line. Other responsibilities include
placing salad bar items in salad bar,
and setting up private functions.
You are responsible for the organization
and cleanliness of food serving area,
wiping down cafeteria tables, and
assisting other food service employees
as designated by the supervisor. Must
have good communication and customer
service skills. Must be dependable
and have a positive attitude. Organization
and keeping workstation clean is required.
Some food service/customer service
experience required. Shift is 10:00
am to 2:30 pm Monday through Friday.
INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR: GLUCOSE
TRAINING SPECIALIST
Nova Biomedical is looking for independent
contractors interested in performing
clinical training services at hospitals
throughout North America in support
of our expanding StatStrip bedside
glucose hospital product line. In
this contracted position, successful
candidates will be offered opportunities
to travel to customer sites and train
end users on the StatStrip system
as part of a team of onsite trainers.
Qualified candidates will become factory
certified trainers on the StatStrip
system. Upon certification, contracted
training specialists will be responsible
for training hospital end users on
the proper use of the StatStrip system.
Additional responsibility includes
documenting end user training and
certifying that the end user has demonstrated
core competencies associated with
the use of the StatStrip system. If
you have hospital glucose testing
experience as a qualified healthcare
professional (RN, LPN, CAN, PCA, CCT,
Medical Technologist, Lab Assistant,
Paramedic), have a flexible schedule

MECHANICAL DESIGNER
As the Mechanical Designer you will
focus on the development of molded
plastic parts, sheet metal chassis,
sub-assemblies, or assemblies and
complex electro/mechanical devices.
This position is responsible for tolerance
studies and prototype evaluations.
You will also provide conceptual design
and development drawings for new product
participation in design reviews and
prepare models as required. Requires
an Associates Degree in Engineering
Science or equivalent.
MECHANICAL ENGINEER CO-OP
The ME Co-Op will work directly with
five Manufacturing Engineers primarily
in the sensors manufacturing department.
Responsibilities include: examining
assembly processes and designing/building
tooling to aid in assembly and testing,
assembly of prototype parts for analysis,
writing ECO’s, including procedures
and drawings. The ideal candidate
should have the ability to develop
and perform test procedures and generate
reports. Computer skills must include
MS Word, Excel and some CAD skills
(Solidworks ideal). The successful
candidate will be organized, motivated
and able to work alone and as part
of a team. Previous CO-OP experience
required.
MECHANICAL INSPECTOR
Perform mechanical inspections and
first articles on sheet metal, plastic
molded parts, cables, and precision
machine parts. Write non-conforming
reports, and work with Engineering
to develop inspection history cards.
Requires 3 to 5 years’ experience
in a manufacturing environment and
the ability to work with Optical Comparitor,
CMM, Vernier and micrometer.
SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST
This position provides financial support
and analysis to the operations, sales,
service and R&D groups. You will
also serve as the primary interface
with contract manufacturing customers.
Key responsibilities include cost,
quotations, pricing, invoicing, monitoring
of inventory, dispute resolution,
and related journal entries and reconciliations.
You will also support domestic and
international sales groups with expense
and variance analysis, and contract
analysis including contract drafting
and negotiation. Requires a BS in
Finance/Accounting, strong analytical
and communication skills, and 4 to
6 years’ related experience
in a manufacturing environment.
SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER
We are actively seeking a Sr Mechanical
Designer/Sr Mechanical Engineer for
our Waltham facility. This position
is responsible for the design of electro-mechanical
systems for medical instruments. The
successful candidate must have practical
hands on experience in the design
of subsystems and precision mechanisms
incorporating motor and solenoid controls,
optical components, heaters, and fluidic
components. Requires competency in
Solidworks modeling or an equivalent
CAD tool. Must be highly proficient
in drawings and drawing standards.
Knowledge of design with plastics
and engineering polymers required.
DFX experience and thermal and structural
analysis and design using analytical
tools is highly desirable. BS in Mechanical
Engineering with 10 to 15 years’
total industry experience, with 5
years in mechanical design of medical
instruments or devices required.
SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER
This position directs and implements
problem-solving projects during the
software development process for biotech
analyzers. Provides higher-level input
on the software architecture for both
the embedded and host sides of the
application. Responsibilities include:
developing the appropriate software
architecture for the product that
is being developed to insure it performs
as required; responsible for overall
embedded system design and implementation;
the Host/UI system design and implementation;
planning software activities and insuring
completion within the scheduled time
frame. Requires a B.S. in Software
or Electrical Engineering with 10
year’s related experience.
SENSOR/TUBING MANUFACTURING MANAGER
This individual is responsible for
all day-to-day activities of the sensor/tubing
operations. This includes from planning
to final packaging of all sensors,
tubing harnesses, membranes and non-sensing
consumables for Nova core products
as well as OEM products. You will
work closely with master scheduling
and purchasing to meet demand of customers
and minimize inventory, finished goods
scrap and provide a smooth flow of
product. You’ll periodically
review processes/products and work
with engineering to reduce lead time
and cost of products. As the manager
you will work closely with supervisors
and group leaders to develop all employees
within the department. The successful
candidate will have a BS in Mechanical/Chemical
Engineering and 5 to 7 years’
operations experience.
TECHNICAL APPLICATION SPECIALIST
As the BioProfile Tech Application
Specialist your primary responsibility
is to provide escalated technical
application and product support over
the telephone and through travel to
onsite customer facilities. Other
key responsibilities are: take incoming
customer calls; consult on and respond
to product application issues; resolve
equipment problems related to the
use of the BioProfile product line;
conduct in-house BioProfile customer
training; facilitate complaint handling,
investigations, and customer follow-up;
work closely with R&D to resolve
technical performance issues as well
as customer specific application issues.
You’ll also work closely with
new customers to streamline validation
requirements on BioProfile products
and to ensure a successful, smooth
transition to Nova technology. This
position requires the ability to understand
and education end users on instrument
application issues, to perform data
analysis in support of various applications,
and to act as a resource to field
support peers. Successful candidates
will have a BS in Chemistry or a life
science, and a minimum of 2 to 3 years’
experience in a biotech/pharma company
working in a GMP controlled manufacturing
or research environment involving
mammalian cell culture or bacterial
fermentation.
TRAFFIC & PRINT PRODUCTION
COORDINATOR
This position will track and help
produce projects within the Creative
Services Department to ensure project
completion on time and on budget.
The position is involved with all
forms of communication mediums, including
web, print, tradeshow and video production.
Responsibilities include: collaborate
with other departments to meet tight
deadlines for multiple projects; monitor
and track open jobs; communicate project
status between teams; create and maintain
Creative Services calendar and schedules;
and coordinate projects through both
the internal agency process and the
client. Requires 3+ years relevant
experience as a traffic coordinator
or experience in graphics print production.
Must also possess excellent proofreading
skills, attention to detail, excellent
verbal and written communication skills,
and demonstrate a high-level skill
with MS Office Suite and Adobe. Print
production as well as design software
experience is a plus.
INTERNATIONAL
SENIOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST/BILINGUAL
This position is based in the Toronto/GTA,
Ontario area.
The Sr Tech Support Specialist is
responsible for analytical instrumentation
field service, clinical applications
and connectivity. Responsibilities
for analytical instrumentation include:
on-site installations and maintenance
on all company product lines, and
telephone support for customer service.
Clinical application responsibilities
include: develop and maintain customer
training materials and documentation,
work with customer POC coordinators
to map out an implementation plan
for activating StatStrip reporting,
conduct on-site validation activities
on all Nova products, serve as a resource
to support staff and customers, work
closely with Sales Reps and US Clinical
Training Specialists, and upon certification
train end users on the StatStrip system
when needed. Connectivity responsibilities
include: for assigned locations, develop
and maintain connectivity and configuration
plans for StatStrip projects, serve
as a technical resource to support
staff and customers, perform 2nd tier
support escalation for customer connectivity
issues, and perform on-site customer
visits to address customer satisfaction
issues. The successful candidate must
be bilingual in English and French.
Requires a degree in Medical Technology,
Laboratory Sciences, or Respiratory
Therapy with a minimum of 2 years’
experience. Requires excellent communication,
training and interpersonal skills,
solid project management, Windows
XP, Server 2000 or 2003 and networking
experience as well as knowledge of
web interfaces, relational databases,
EDI and scripted interfaces. Requires
a driver’s license and willingness
to travel within Canada for extended

CO-OP ENGINEER
This position helps support
the Test Strip Manufacturing area
by providing technical assistance
to the engineering operation by performing
evaluations and validations of the
existing and new equipment. Assist
in collecting and monitoring production
data. Support includes working with
production personnel, with process
assessment, and in ways to keep the
operation constantly running. Assist
in servicing any down piece of equipment.
Good communication and computer skills
required.
GROUP LEADER- STRIPS MANUFACTURING
Working under the direction
of the Production Supervisor, supporting
the Biosensor Manufacturing area.
Implementing the day-to-day training,
scheduling, employee performance assessment,
material processing and equipment
maintenance requirements needed in
the Manufacturing of biosensor. Help
in assisting process methods to minimize
process time and material scrap. Support
includes working with production personnel
in ways to keep the operation constantly
running.
LINE OPERATOR, TEST STRIPS (1st and
3rd Shift Openings)
This individual will operate
a variety of equipment throughout
the manufacturing of Biosensors. You
will be trained and cross-trained
to operate lasers, lamination, dispensing,
inspection and a variety of cutting
equipment. The successful candidate
must posses the ability to pay attention
to details, follow instructions from
verbal and written procedures, and
have the drive to learn and operate
process equipment. The manufacturing
process requires a high level of standing
while operating equipment. Flexibility
and team performance is a must
