Nova Biomedical is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a three-year contract to provide point-of-care/blood gas instrumentation to Premier, Inc., effective October 1, 2005.

Under the terms of the contract (No. PP-LA-173), Nova Biomedical will provide our advanced point-of-care/blood gas analyzers, connectivity solutions, reagents and consumables, and our service contracts to Premier members, associates, and affiliates.
Key factors in Premier's decision were:

  • Nova's extensive test menu including pH, PO2, PCO2, pH, SO2%, hematocrit, hemoglobin, sodium, potassium, chloride, ionized magnesium, glucose, BUN, creatinine, lactate, and cooximetry
  • The largest selection of analyzer models in the industry:
    – Stat Profile® Critical Care Xpress for high throughput applications (13 models)
    – Stat Profile® pHOx® series for moderate testing needs (6 models)

The agreement will provide Premier member organizations with the following price incentives:

  • Up to 46% off Nova's instrument list price based on the number of instruments purchased
  • Up to 22% off Nova's list price for reagents based on annual sales volume
  • Volume discounts based on three tier levels for analyzers and six tier levels for consumables

In addition, Nova will offer Premier member organizations the following value-added programs:

  • CO-Ox upgrade program
  • Additional discounts for competitive instrument trade-ins
  • CEU programs
  • Quality control lot sequestering
  • Free software upgrades
