This presentation will analyse the key point-of-care (POC) tests available and recommended to monitor septic patients. The added value of POC will be supported by published references and professional guidelines. Tests that only recently have become available as POC will also be presented and their importance in the management of septic patients will also be discussed in light of the scientific literature and the clinical experience available.
